I first heard of Miracle Hill as a farm boy in in grade school over 55 years ago. I never dreamed that one day I would actually be able to be an employee of Miracle Hill and see God at work on a first-hand basis, and as I look back over the time I have spent as a staff member of Miracle Hill, I can think of many good memories, but one that stands out above the others revolves around a young man who was a resident at Miracle Hill Children’s Home in the 90’s.
Jim, as I will call him, came to Miracle Hill from another state. He and his two brothers had experienced a broken home and neither parent was able to care for them. In spite of all that he had at Miracle Hill, as one year at Miracle Hill turned into another, he still wanted to go home.
As his parents continued to tell him that it was not possible for him to come home, he decided to take matters into his own hands and ran away. When Jim’s plan failed, and he was returned to Miracle Hill, he was upset and very disappointed. As I shared with him the story of Joseph, Jim began to see how Joseph trusted God when he could not see any hope, and God worked things together for him.
Jim’s life was changed, three months later, he was allowed to go back home. Like Jim, many times we cannot see beyond today, and we become frustrated with God and those around us. What a joy to know that God always knows what is best, and He loves His children and will provide what is best for each of us.
