Four Decades at Miracle Hill

Forty is a milestone number. Reaching a 40th birthday can often be the cause of lighthearted bantering and teasing. It also gives one the opportunity to reflect over the years they have lived, surviving childhood, teen years, young adulthood and now middle age.

But imagine working for Miracle Hill Ministries for four decades! This is the path in which the Lord has directed my steps. My first day working at the Greenville Rescue Mission was September 4, 1972.

The blessing of God upon Miracle Hill Ministries over the years has been a thrill to observe and to have a small part. In 1972 there was our small rescue mission, thrift store/industries and children’s home. Today, in addition, we have missions in Gaffney and Spartanburg, a boy’s shelter, women’s shelter, men’s and women’s recovery centers, thrift stores, relief ministry and transitional housing.

Thousands of people in crisis have come through the doors. Many have accepted Christ as their Savior; many have found victory over enslaving habits of addiction. My forty years are a part of the much bigger number of 75 years Miracle Hill has been in existence.

All I can do is look back and praise the Lord for allowing me to see lives transformed along with tremendous growth allowing us to reach out to so many more in need. And all this brought about by God working in the hearts of faithful supporters. I am truly thankful to witness the miracle of Miracle Hill!
