The age old question. “God, who are YOU?”
You know those moments where God speaks to you so clearly through His word that you feel as though you have been punched right in the heart? Those moments where He speaks right to YOU, right there in the place where you are at, in the very season of life that you are in at the time. Those moments where He makes Himself so known to you that you must ask, “Who are You, God?” Who are You, that You would speak to me? Who are You, that You want to know my name? Who are You, that You want to RESCUE me??
It is the same thing that baffles David in Psalm 8. David ponders, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?” (Psalm 8:3-4)
David can’t understand why the God of all creation, the Maker of heaven and earth, the One who set the planets into motion, would want anything to do with us. It’s that moment where you realize that we, on our own, are nothing. But, because HE loves, because HE says we have worth, we are suddenly loved, we suddenly have value.
Here at Miracle Hill we get to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ every single day with hundreds of individuals. INDIVIDUALS. We know them by name. The Lord knows them by name as well. Every single one of them has a story, and every single one of them have value. Each day people in Miracle Hill Shelters get to hear about a Good Father who cares for His children. A Father who loves them, even when the world says that they are worthless, broken, or failures. A Father who loves them even when they may have made decisions that have led them to addiction or homelessness. Many of the individuals in the care of Miracle Hill are asking the question of “Who are You, God?” for the very first time. That is something to celebrate!
Aren’t you thankful today for a Good Father who loves us while we are still sinners? Aren’t you thankful today for the MERCY & GRACE of Jesus Christ? Doesn’t the fact that the God of all creation wants to know you, move you?
Please pray for the men, women and children that are waking up this morning in Miracle Hill care. Pray that they might know Jesus Christ. Pray that they would continue to ask, “Who are You, God?” Pray that they would experience the love of Christ through the people that care for them and counsel them. Pray that that our guests and staff alike would desire to know HIM more each day. Pray for the staff and volunteers at Miracle Hill, that we would remain focused on Jesus at all times, and that through that we might radiate the Joy of the Lord at all times.
