Welcome, New Mentors!

Follow the steps on this page to become a mentor at Overcomers or Renewal.

Miracle Hill Ministries’ Spiritual Life Mentoring program exists to provide a mentoring and accountability relationship in the lives of the Overcomer and Renewal graduates.

Mentors play a vital ministry role in sharing the love and Good News of Jesus Christ and helping move men and women toward healthy relationships and stability.

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6

Thank you for your interest in serving with Miracle Hill Ministries. Few things are more important to the success of an Overcomer or Renewal graduate than a significant and meaningful relationship with a caring mentor. Mentors have the opportunity to minister as “seed sowers” of good things into the life of graduates. Mentors don’t change people, but they can contribute to an environment where God can work to make a difference. Inevitably, God makes a difference in the lives of Mentors, too, as they serve men and women recovering from life-dominating addictions.

You most likely have already spoken to a Miracle Hill Ministries’ staff member and have started the process of becoming a Spiritual Life Mentor. Please follow the steps below to complete your registration as a Volunteer with Miracle Hill. When you have completed these steps, please email cfritz@miraclehill.org to let us know you’re ready to move forward.

Thank you for your heart to serve! We pray your service blesses you as much as it blesses our guests and staff!

STEPS TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER SPIRITUAL LIFE MENTOR

Please complete the steps below in preparation to become a Spiritual Life Mentor.

A Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to schedule the second half of the training and an interview with the Director.

STEP 1: MENTOR TRAINING VIDEO

The following Training Video will take about 2 hours to watch. Please take the time to watch the video completely. It is OK to break it up into several sessions if that works best for your schedule.

After you have completed the video, please reach out to the Mentor Coordinator.

STEP 2: EVANGELISM TRAINING

Our heart is that every guest in our care hears the gospel shared by both our staff and our volunteers. As a Miracle Hill volunteer, you have the opportunity and the responsibility to share the gospel and walk the journey of faith with our guests and new graduates. We ask that all of our volunteers in a position of spiritual influence are comfortable with sharing the gospel, in agreement with our statement of faith. You are welcome to share the gospel in a way that is most natural to you (Romans Road, Evangecube, Salvation Bracelet, etc.).

Please watch the following training video as an overview of sharing the gospel story.
Click THIS LINK to access the training on RightNow Media. Log in to RightNow Media with the “login” button on the top right hand corner using the following login credentials:
Username: miraclehillvolunteer@gmail.com Password: Volunteer
This is an interactive training with a response box to type in answers to several questions asked throughout the training. Since this is a shared account, please do not type your answers in the box.

When you have completed the Evangelism training, please complete this brief form to let us know.

*Current church pastors are not required to complete this evangelism training. Please feel free to use this as a resource if you would like.

STEP 3: Mentor Handbook

All Mentors will want to read the Mentor Training Manual.

Please also see the the Miracle Hill Volunteer Handbook here.

* When you accept a volunteer position at Miracle Hill you are agreeing to abide by the guidelines of our Volunteer program.

STEP 4: Liability Waiver

Please sign our online liability waiver by clicking here.

STEP 5: Sex Offender Registry Check

We require a sex offender registry check on our volunteers to ensure the safety of our guests.
Please complete the Sex Offender Registry Check here.
You may read through the instructions listed on the page for full disclosure on the process.

STEP 6: Doctrinal Statement & Spiritual Influence Form

We ask that all volunteers who are serving in a position with spiritual influence to agree and sign our Doctrinal Statement.

Please read and sign the Doctrinal Statement here: Spiritual Influence

STEP 7: Volunteer Profile

Create an account and profile on our Community Connect volunteer system. Proceed to this link: Volunteer Profile Creation

Click at the top on the green box that says “Sign Up” on this Login page. You will be asked for your email address and to create a password for your account. Next, you will fill out basic information to create your profile like contact information and what interests you have (you will be given a list to choose from). Once you start volunteering at our site, you will use this account to sign in at the front desk.

STEP 8: Vehicle Use Form & MVR Check

We ask that all volunteers who drive guests in their personal vehicles complete our Volunteer Vehicle Use Form. We will run an MVR check for all Spiritual Life Mentors.

The form, which is found here,  can be printed off and mailed to our Administrative Office, attn: Caleb Massey. Or, you may email a scanned copy of the form to Caleb Massey at cmassey@miraclehill.org.

Interview with Director

We ask that all Spiritual Life Mentor applicants have a one-on-one conversation with the Director of Overcomers or Renewal. This gives the Director a chance to know you, answer questions you may have, as well as hear more about your heart to serve in this capacity.

If you are unsure about the director to speak with, please email cmassey@miraclehill.org

Attend In-Person Training

All men & women interested in becoming a Spiritual Life Mentor are asked to attend a “Mentor Ministry Training.” After you complete the video above, you have finished about half of the training.

The Mentor Coordinator will work with you to schedule attendance at the next in person Mentor Training to complete the second half of training.

The training will give you a greater understanding of:

  1. What it means to be a Spiritual Life Mentor
  2. Addictions and Recovery
  3. Miracle Hill’s Program & Transition Foundations
  4. How the Mentor Relationship Works
  5. How to Utilize Healthy Confrontation & Conflict Resolution
