A Mother’s Day Blessing

By May 6, 2014August 1st, 2019No Comments

Janet is not her real name, but her story is real. She spent more than four years away from her son because of her devastating choices to accommodate the desires of her child’s father. Her choices resulted in a felony charge that included a prison sentence, probation, and a felony label that makes it difficult to find employment and housing.
While in the jail, Janet was approached by some women from a local church who shared with her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was assured of the forgiveness of Christ and chose to receive Him as her Saviour. Life began to change, but how would she begin to get her son back?
Upon leaving jail, she came to Miracle Hill Rescue Mission to begin her journey back to having her son with her once again. Her journey began her looking for employment, saving money, securing transportation and finding housing. After six months, she was able to move out of the Mission to a place of her own, but it still took over three more years until the Lord worked everything out for her to have her son live with her once again.
This year, Janet will be able to spend Mother’s Day with her son by her side because of the blessing of God upon her life.
