Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus

Allow Christ’s Compassion to Flow Through You

Miracle Hill Ministries’ volunteer program exists to connect people who have a desire to share their God-given talents with those in our care by offering personal opportunities that are meaningful to them and beneficial to the ministry.

In many ways, our volunteers are the heart of our ministry. Volunteers don’t just help with everyday tasks in our facilities, they also play an integral role in our guests’ lives. When someone receives a helping hand or a kind smile at just the right moment, it can make all the difference in the world. Our guests have seen God at work through these perfectly-timed smiles, acts of kindness, and handshakes.

Our volunteers’ compassion radiates through the hallways of our shelters. Their joyful spirits create a palpable sense of peace for our guests—who, in many cases, haven’t felt at ease in a very, very long time.

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Review Our Volunteer Requirements

It’s critical that all of our volunteers treat our guests in a manner that reflects biblical character, shows respect for the value and dignity of all people, recognizes the need for protection and well-being of all, and is God-honoring.

Each volunteer opportunity is subject to its own requirements. A volunteer coordinator at the specific facility where you are interested in serving will go over individual requirements prior to scheduling.

Adult Ministry Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must…

  • Be at least 18 years old to volunteer individually
  • Be at least 12 years old to volunteer with an adult chaperone
  • Be at least 14 years old to volunteer in the kitchen in any facility
  • Complete a profile on our volunteer platform, Get Connected, read the Volunteer Handbook, and watch the Volunteer Orientation video.
    • A Miracle Hill staff member will help walk you through this process

Children’s Ministry Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must…

  • Be at least 18 years old to volunteer individually

Other notes:

  • Individual volunteers in our children’s ministries are required to complete an annual background check. The background check process takes approximately four weeks.
  • Groups serving more than once per quarter will need to complete an annual background check for each member of the group.
  • Children younger than 14 years old are encouraged to organize a donation drive of items needed in our shelters.

There’s a Place for You at Miracle Hill

Miracle Hill operates four rescue missions, two addiction recovery centers, a foster care campus, a foster care program and eight thrift stores across the Upstate. Most of these locations offer volunteer opportunities, though during some seasons there are fewer.

Volunteer opportunities are different at every location and vary depending on the time of year, the size of your group, and even based on your personal strengths. It’s also very important to note that our volunteer intake process may be different for each location.

Anyone in need of completing Community Service and/or PTI hours should click on our thrift store link below!

We know the impact a volunteer can have on the life of our guests is incredible; therefore we encourage volunteers to invest in on-going service. However, if you are unable to commit currently to an ongoing volunteer relationship with Miracle Hill, we still want you to apply. We look forward to serving with you!

Select a location to learn more about the opportunities available at that location and to find out how you can start the process of becoming a Miracle Hill volunteer.
