How Miracle Hill Ministries is responding to COVID-19
and how you can help.

Psalm 46:1-3

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”

As times are uncertain in our community and nation, Miracle Hill Ministries looks to the Great Physician (Luke 5:31) and Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6) for our strength and peace.

Miracle Hill Ministries Continues to Help Shelter, Feed, Counsel, and Care for Children, Women, and Men Experiencing Homelessness

Miracle Hill Ministries is a mercy ministry, operating our shelters and programs 365 days per year to provide care for our guests. Our shelters will remain open during the COVID-19 crisis and we are taking precautions to protect the safety and health of both our guests and staff.

As a whole, the Ministry will continue to be vigilant and responsible in doing our part in helping slow down the spread of the virus while being confident that God is in control.

Miracle Hill Ministries has taken the following precautions during this time:

  • All of our shelters remain open.  We have implemented additional hygiene and cleaning protocols, social distancing of guests as much as possible given that our shelters have dormitory style rooms, screening of those coming into the shelter, and a limited area for quarantine as needed.  We will continue to adjust and respond to needs in our shelters as conditions change.
  • We are complying with all government advisories and mandates. Our senior leadership team is meeting daily to share feedback from our staff and to assess and adjust our processes and practices.
  • We no longer allow volunteers or donors to enter our shelters in order to limit exposure to our guests as well as to practice social distancing recommended by the CDC. We have staff members who are daily working on the front lines, responding to the crisis by sharing the love of Christ. Some staff are working behind the scenes from home supporting our ministry in necessary roles.
  • We are collaborating with other homeless service providers to ensure a coordinated response for those in our community who are most vulnerable.  We recognize that financial strain due to sudden layoffs will increase the number of people needing assistance if the crisis continues for a prolonged period.
  • Our Food Warehouse is continuing to operate, but we have limited the number of food boxes we are distributing to the community at large in order to ensure we have food and resources to care for the guests in our shelters.

Our annual fundraising banquet, originally scheduled for March 19th, was cancelled as a precautionary measure. However, we shared a virtual banquet in its place. You can watch the Virtual Banquet below, providing a tour of our facilities and celebrating stories of life change.

Ways to Support the Ministry Amidst COVID-19

Pray for the Lord's Protection of our Shelters

Please pray for our guests and staff as we take every precaution to keep our guests safe and also respect the health of our staff. (Psalm 3:3)

Pray against the enemy, as he operates strongly in times of fear and isolation (Psalm 91:2)

These are uncertain times for all of us, but the Lord is great in our weakness and has a plan for our Ministry, guests, and community (Jer. 29:11)

We have peace and confidence in our Heavenly Father, who gives us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Take Your Kids on a Virtual Field Trip to our Shelters

We want to give your children the opportunity to take field trips with Miracle Hill Ministries while we are in this period of mandatory homeschooling. We want the next generation to know, and be excited about what Jesus has called His followers to do and how we, in the upstate of SC, are answering His call and serving hurting and hopeless individuals here in our area.

Volunteer from Home

We have several options for you and your family to stay connected with and support the guests at our shelters from home. Please view the needs posted here to discover ways your family can support Miracle Hill Ministries from home.

One idea for families to get involved is to host a no-contact neighborhood donation drive: Place a plastic bin with a lid on your porch and invite neighbors to place canned goods in the bin. Get your whole family involved by having kids decorate a sign for the donation bin with the title “Donations for Miracle Hill Ministries.” This video explains more about our food ministries.

Donate Items for our Shelters

Our shelters are in great need of meat (chicken, ground beef, etc.), cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, plastic cutlery, and non-perishable canned goods.

In order to limit possible exposure at our shelters, please drop off all donated items at Miracle Hill’s Food Warehouse, located at 725 Keith Drive in Greenville, Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm.

Continue to Shop at our Thrift Stores

Our eight thrift stores are continuing to operate on limited hours and are taking precautions to sanitize all areas of the store, including shopping carts and check out counters.

Revenue generated by our thrift stores is critical to the operations of our shelters and programs. Please consider shopping at a store near you in support of the Ministry.
