Looking Back

When my family and I moved to Greenville to work with Miracle Hill, we were committed to a 3 to 5-year stay, but the Lord had other plans for our lives. Now 30 years later, as my wife and I are moving into retirement, I can see how the Lord has led in our lives while here at Miracle Hill.
We have been involved in the lives of children and adults and rejoice in the lives of men, women and children who have been touched and changed through the years; however, one thing is very clear to us. God is the one who has done the changing, and He has chosen us to be workers together with Him.
There have been times of great joy and times of frustration and sorrow, but the joyous times have come when we have allowed God to work through us instead of us trying to do the work ourselves. Often times, we have seen the Lord do more in our lives than in the lives of those to whom He has called us to minister, but that is only so we can be better prepared to serve Him.
In short, as I look back over the past 30 years, I can say that it is not about me, but about our great God Who has chosen to work through me and through anyone who is willing to be submissive to the will and way of God. I thank the Lord that He has chosen me to have had the privilege of serving Him in this way.
