How to Prepare for 30 Guests

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, it is time to think about entertaining guests, but what would you do if 30 guests showed up at your door and you needed to care for them? As you would think through everything from places to sleep, food to eat, clothes to be washed, costs to care for them all, you would begin to imagine what it is like at Miracle Hill Rescue Mission every day.
Miracle Hill Rescue Mission – Cherokee County houses and cares for more than 30 different men, women and children every day, and each of them is in need of most of the same things that you need in your home. Look around your home and think of the things that need to be purchased every week. Your list would most likely include cereal, milk, eggs, bread, meat, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and paper products.
Each one of us can do something to help make a difference in the lives of the hurting and the homeless. It begins with our prayers to ask for wisdom, but what about the next time you go to the store? Would it be possible to pick up a couple of extra items that could be donated to the Mission to help meet the needs of those in their care? Or what about a small financial gift each month to help pay for the cost of utilities? What might God be asking you to do?
